United by Bravery: the fundraising effort covers almost 40 countries

The charity race with the Ukrainian flags started on November 27th and will last until December 4th. Participants from all over the world run in online and offline formats to raise funds for purchasing the “Shahed Hunter” anti-drone system through the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

The last Sunday of November became the day of the largest event of 2022, organized by Run Ukraine – the UNITED BY BRAVERY charity run. The participants could run offline in Kyiv or join in the online format from around the world.

Participants from Ukraine and 39 other countries joined this running event. Over 500 runners of various levels of training participated on the race course in Kyiv, while hundreds of participants joined online. Among the latter were Timothy Snyder, an American historian, and UNITED24 ambassador, running the 10 km distance, and Viktor Liashko, the Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine.

Throughout the previous week, the UNITED BY BRAVERY charity race has gained a new meaning, becoming the true symbol of Ukrainian resilience. With no electricity, cell phone reception, water, and heat, dozens of contractors in different cities made medals, printed banners, and brought this event to life. Thousands of participants kept training to come to the starting line with a Ukrainian flag.

“We made it. Despite all the obstacles and harsh circumstances, we organized the race and united people from almost 40 countries. It is snowing in Kyiv today, and the temperatures are low, but it didn’t stop our participants from coming to the race. We are proud to be doing what we can, for each personal victory is an investment into our great victory!” – Viktoriia Veremiienko of Run Ukraine said.

Anyone can join Timothy Snyder and thousands of runners in the UNITED BY BRAVERY online race. New participants have time until December 4, 2022, to run their distances in any part of the world. They can also choose a preferred form of the award – an e-medal or a metal medal (mailed to the participant after the race).

It doesn’t matter what distance you choose, for both 100 meters and half-marathon runners will help shield Ukrainian skies from enemy drones. Remember, Ukrainians are invincible because they are united with each other and with the entire world.

Run Ukraine, the race organizer, will transfer 70% of the race profit to the UNITED24 fundraising platform to purchase the “Shahed Hunter” anti-drone system.
